THANKS FOR YOUR COOPERATION IN THE MATTER!
Always contact me as soon as you arrive in Cabo so I have your hotel & room number info!! (Mx Cell, 044-624-151-5455 or Home, 145-8330 (these numbers dialed the same whether from your local resort or US cell working in Cabo)) Also, always confirm your drinks/lunches ahead of fishing day(s)! I am tired of hotels not being able to figure out which room guests are in!!! Also, occassionally hearing that an e-mailed drink/lunch order followed later making a request for drinks, lunches, or changes. I am trying to eliminate any surprises. Thx, Todd
#1-Why do I identify problems/scams in the charter business? I'm simply tired of many of the lies!! SORRY to be honest about what goes on in this business locally, with SOME of these people! While your success is our number one priority I am very interested in cleaning up the B.S. that goes on with many the BROKERS/non boat owning companies in this business!!!!!!!!! FYI-Please go to the bottom of this page to read VERY important details about how some companies are operating/lying about their fleets, boats, boat sizes & overcharging on boat prices, etc... therefore! I want to hear your story about what's happened to you, PLEASE, for the record.
#2-Please RELEASE ALL Billfish you catch!!! 99.99+% of all mounts are replicas & we can help you with getting a trophy mount should you be interested. Please don't kill or let crew's kill Billfish!! If you're personally going to take the whole fish home to the states and eat it, then keep it. They're not very good to eat, however!
#3-Boats' location, located directly in front of the Cabo Dolphins Center, Dock 2, near Principle Dock where the cruise ships unload. PLEASE don't forget this! (As of June 1, 2007). Most of the competition will tell you we've left and ALL the coyotes/boat brokers I WARN you about will lie to you about our new location, even worse!!
********My friends (ya right) at CaboMagic.com will still have you think I lie about them. They own a 30' Bertram (it says it on the side of their boat, NOT the classic 31' Bertram) & 35' Bertram, ONLY! That's ALL! They BROKER the rest of the boats on their site!****** Why lie about your own company and especially your personally owned boats? ******
******************Got Caught Fishing Charters******************
After 23 trips and 11+ years sport fishing in Cabo San Lucas one of my passions became a reality! I live here now bringing you some of the world's best sport fishing with one of the finest fishing charters ever to be put into operation in the area! We currently own 3 quality boats to better serve our customers. If we don't have what you want then we'll try to point you in the direction of a good boat that fits your needs and should be successful. The care, dedication & thought that's gone into our charter operation will make everyone, from the fishing novice to the expert, have one of their most enjoyable experiences ever! I have created this company based on what I wanted & expected as a customer coming to fish Cabo. Many have called
the best fishing experience they have had both here and even worldwide, especially for the money. I feel extremely fortunate to have such a great clientele that have had successful fishing experiences and become such good friends. Our team makes the difference.
We will help you to catch all types of sport fish including marlin (Blue, Black & Striped), sailfish, tuna (yellow fin), dorado (mahi-mahi or dolphin fish), wahoo as well as roosterfish, snapper, sierra mackerel, grouper and even shark when possible. Obviously Cabo is considered one of the world's best fishing areas, for several reasons, and our crews will work hard to help you catch the fish you seek. We are a charter fishing company and our crew's will do whatever they can to help your trip be a success!
Part of what has made us so successful, other than the fish caught, is the fact that we offer personalized service such as preparing you ahead of time so that your experience will be the best it can. I meet everyone at the boats, in the mornings, making certain that the crews and anglers are properly introduced to one another and then determine exactly what the desired fishing plan may be as per the customer's request or help them to create one. We have some of the nicest boats in the marina, top of the line fishing equipment that's either new or well serviced, and we'll give you the best advice we can based specifically on what the past few day's fishing has been. Our crews speak great English and we even have an American captain, on one boat, so no language barriers will be found here. That's important to us and makes you feel more comfortable, too.
Always feel free to contact me to inquire about the fishing, resorts, other matters relative to planning your trip to Cabo. PHONE numbers are a must when you contact us! Please be careful when booking rooms because you could end up 5 to 20+ miles away from the only marina in 'Los Cabos' area and then be subjected to the worst cab fares in ALL of Mexico, which add up quickly. In my opinion, going to an 'all-inclusive' resort, is not a good idea, as well. It's only my opinion because of all the excellent restaurants, bars, etc&, in Cabo. They know that most people figure this out and don't use their fairly mediocre food & drink options inclusive in their prices, anyway. Stay there but don't buy into their all-inclusive plans. We'll help you find good restaurants, places to socialize, businesses that are friendlier than others and when you have fish that's edible, where to take it at great prices to have the best dinners in all of Cabo! Most restaurants offer to cook it multiple ways but only a few do it right!
Our mission...
Share our experience and provide some of the best & most successful sport fishing to all who join us and make certain that they not only enjoy Cabo's beauty & resources; but, WANT to come back AGAIN and bring their friends & family to enjoy the same!
Quality Boats...
 |
|
Our Nice Boats help make a trip more enjoyable. It's about catching fish but quality boats, dependable twin diesel engines, modern, functional electronics, proper insurances & safety items and the appropriate crew & American owner all make for a difference that help you enjoy your charter with us! Many boats are minimally maintained in Cabo, do not carry appropriate insurances, have no navigational equipment and even safety devices in the event of failures so if you have problems, you will likely be floating for a while. (Ask the 28', single engine boat, what happened to it during the 2005 Tuna tournament! It floated for 2 nights! and no one could find it.) |

Caught Again 32' Luhrs 320 Express (1997) (This boat has a max. capacity to 8 customers which is more than most boats to 36', so note this for larger families!) (Literally about 6" shorter than the 34' boat next to it!?) This boat was added Aug 2005. This is a fishing machine, totally equipped, with great comforts! Twin Yanmar engines, express model, so shaded cover is a surplus, stereo (CDs & MP3's, so bring some), 13' beam, high bridge w/ additional seating, A/C is available, a great crew, top of the line fishing equipment, safety and style that's second to none! This boat competes directly with the $1000+/day Picante fleet, starting with their 31's, for considerably LESS $$$$! You be glad you experienced this boat. Spicy Tuna (One of Cabo's most successful boats!!) 33' Cabo Custom Fishing Machine (1997 ) (This boat's max. capacity to 6 customers) The 33' custom built boat is a fast boat! I use to fish it all the time before I moved to Cabo. The crew is one of the most successful in the area! Designed as an "Express model" it's cooler than most boats. It runs Cummins 315s which make it fun to fish and you get where you need to be quickly! It has a large fighting chair, nice bait tank & built in tuna tubes!! Fully geared & equipped for tournaments, etc...! (Slip E 14)
** Once you've fished on this boat you really need to go to the owner's restaurant, Nick-San, in downtown Cabo San Lucas just to the left of Tesoro Resort &/or behind the Tanga Tanga bar! It's by far one of the best Sushi/Japanese style dining experiences, dare I say, on the entire west coast of North America! It is truly one of Los Cabos' very BEST restaurants/experiences!** |

Thank you for your continued support to one of Cabo's most successful companies while we strive to continue bringing you the best in Cabo Sportfishing!
Quality Fishing Equipment...
All fishing rods & reels are newer and in great condition! They consist of Penn Internationals 30's, 50's & 80's, Kg 15's & 30's, GLD 30's & 50's & Shimano TLD 30 & 50's. All reels are 2-speed and have matching, high quality rods. Some lighter weight and spinning equipment is also available. All the fishing essential extras are on board, as well.
**Too many other boats lose fish immediately on a hook-up due to poor line quality, poorly maintained equipment, inadequately set/functional drags on reels, etc! Do you want to loose a fish before you even get a chance to fight it or even after you have fought it for 30 minutes, OR LONGER due to equipment failure or line condition? It's sad when I hear how often this happens!**
Gratuities... Most everyone asks about this practice/matter. Yes, it's voluntary, however consider it somewhat as you do at a restaurant, please. It's typically between 15-20% and primarily based on your day's success as well as how hard you feel/know the crew worked, their interaction with you, service and friendliness on the boat, etc... Fishing does have its slow or bad days so keep this in mind. Also, if the crew cleans fish for you onboard (which is ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!!), also tip them something for this. Did you know it's illegal to clean fish at sea? It's a serious penalty for us, if we do. You should give the tip to the captain and he will split it with the mate. I have seen where an exceptional day fishing brings substantially more gratuity, to the guys. Believe me, they appreciate everything you give them. That's the skinny on this, for the record.

Current Boat BROKER update...
Pisces & Picante ARE reputable companies that while brokering boats for charter ACTUALLY manage these boats, AS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE, many others have created their BIG, FANCY sites creating their images as leaders in the Cabo Fishing industry, at your expense/cost. ABSOLUTELY, ask all the appropriate questions when booking a charter(s). Remember, many here like to tell you what they KNOW YOU WANT TO HEAR, so be careful. You will note that any boat I have on my site, that's not mine, I disclose the exact details on this matter. Call me for more information, if you'd like, on my boats or others.
Sites like www.Cabo-Fishing.net or www.CaboMagic.com are examples of "LEGAL" boat brokers operating via the internet. Note, the first owns NO boats, while operating from Puerto Vallarta & having this enormous, local fleet with too many boats to list all of them. When you rent from them they "Can't guarantee" you the boat in the picture but something "similar" will be available. Are you renting a car? (THEY THINK SO!) I didn't think so! The second listed site owns 2 boats (I'm pretty certain) but making it appear that they own many, too. They often are priced considerably higher than the actual owners price their boats, also often over-stating the ACTUAL size of these boat(s), etc...! Even their own PERSONAL charter boat is a 30' BERTRAM, not the classic 31' that everyone wants to fish!! It's listed on the side of their boat! Why say differently, is my question? They promote it as a 31' Bertram on their web-site!!!!!!!!!!! There's quite a difference between it and a real 31' Bertram!! Why lie about your own boat??
Both these companies list boats, which I can happily send you direct, for considerably less money. NO PROBLEMA, as they say here in Mexico!!!!
Example, MOST all pangas can be rented for $30/hour. Call me and I can send you to these owners for this price and also their minimum trip times are 5 hours, ONLY, NOT 6 hrs, as Cabo Magic states on their web-site!!! I have spoken to panga OWNERS and know that while C/M collects $40/hour for minimum 6 hours, the boat owner(s)' are only being paid for 5 hours and at least $10+/hr less!!! This is true for 90%+ of these style boats that their NORMAL price is $30/hr.! Many list these boats as 23' Super Pangas! ALL these boats are actually closer to 20' +/- ONE foot, really being 19-20' boats with a 2-3' bow pulpit added to the front to OBTAIN THESE LARGER LENGTHS!!!!!! DO NOT EXPECT to show up and get the 23' boat you're expecting if you've never fished a panga before!!! Many of these charter companies offering you the 5 hour fishing packages are making 50-75% extra on your $175-199 package deals for these trips on these boats!!!!! Then charging you for licenses, bait, food, drinks, on top of the trip, which are normal extra charges depending on how much you are being charged for these "extras"!!
ALSO-Beware of several other boats which are actually 28' - 32' that are actually being marketed as larger boats, TOO. Many boats are promoted incorrectly, no matter what their REAL sizes are!!! If a company lists their OWN boat(s) inaccurately what do you think goes on with other boats they display?? It's happening all over with many of these brokers so that they can appear to be giving you a deal on a different boat other than what some one else is advertising either properly, because they own the boat, or other brokers are advertising it. If they say it's actually bigger than the competition's ad and blank out the name on the boat, YOU'LL NEVER KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coming soon are several informational sites with many fleets' boats stating the owning company & their actual boat sizes, as per US regulations/manufacturers, not made up lengths because they've added "additional" pulpit lengths , swim-steps, or dreamed that these boats actually grew overnight, or thought that in Mexico a foot is actually ONLY ten inches!!! I don't know what they're doing? Not only will my sites have links directly accessing these info sites but other legitimate, local charter companies' sites will also have links to them!!!
AS NORMAL, also BEWARE of the 'Coyotes' so-called boat brokers running around the marina that are even worse at deliberately misrepresenting boats & owners! Book from them and their little picture books and you're dealing with your worse enemy and opening yourself up to many of their bait and switch techniques or possibly pictures of the boats that are very misrepresentative of the actual boat because they're old pictures, etc...
Likewise, listen to all the timeshare booths set up around town and the marina whom actually work for these resorts and DOUBLE as boat brokers by either having DEALS if you go to timeshare presentations, or a list of other boats to promote, have NO permits to do this!! They're ONLY interested in their pockets!!!!!! If you think we're lying then by all means, book with them!!! Become another likely statistic of the Cabo Fishing Industry!
